sony walkman mp3 player and speaker dock

I am trying to source a non Apple mp3 player and compatible speaker dock or micro hi fi system so it can be played both as portable mp3 player and then connected to speakers at home to play as well. I have found a sony Walkman but the information is sketchy at best as to whether it can play through speakers or a micro hifi system. Any suggestions?

As above, all the mp3 players/phones etc that I have will connect via the headphone socket on the device to the 'aux in' on the dock.

All the docks and systems nowadays should have this input available. You just need a male to male 3.5mm lead - very cheap. Even older hi-fi systems with phono inputs can us a phono to 3.5mm adapter - again very cheap - to get the sound playing.

Thanks. I went into sony store today and was shown how they would connect together. I now feel guilty that I intend to buy them online after the sales assistant was so helpful. Does anyone else struggle with this?

Micro HiFi systems with 3.5mm input for iPod and mp3 player are plentiful. Get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead, and you're sorted.
