Detailed user manual for predictive text.

I'm very non- techie and struggle with basic predictive text so things like corrections, inserting words and adding symbols are a complete mystery.
The instructions that come with a mobile phone -paper or online - just skim over the basics.
Is there a detailed online manual anywhere?

If you can't deal with it, how about turning it off? I'm assuming you're still using a non-smart phone if predictive text is an issue, if you make the move to a smart phone, even a basic one, then you'll have a full keyboard to use which (to me at least) makes typing proper sentences a lot easier than it used to be with a numeric keypad.0

first thing with any new phone, turn the bl00dy predctive text off
......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

There are different types of things you could all legitimately call predictive text, but if you've got a really basic phone (tiny screen, keypad of 0-9 plus # and * keys) it'll likely be a system called T9. The fine details will vary by implementation (eg Nokia and Samsung might implement slightly different shortcut keys) but http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/T9_(predictive_text) will give you a starting point.0
