When can I switch supplier?

I have just switched from edf to scottish power to take advantage of a slightly longer fixed period. Became a scottish power only on 15th of October.

I have just done a comparison and eon have a better deal, which also includes clubcard points.

Is there any time I have to leave between joining a supplier and leaving?

The scottish power tariff have no leaving fees.

You can switch whenever you like. There is no minimum period you need to stay with any supplier. In the case of a fixed-term contract, there might be early-termination fees to pay but you say this is no so in your case.

Just ask the new supplier or a switching site to start the switch. It can take 6 - 8 weeks to complete.
