    I've been Money Tipped!
I'm not sure I'd want a second hand sofa. Just imagine all the wind expulsion, bodily fluids and cat sick that has bed in for many years.

But people have second hand cars and sit on other people's sofas. I draw the line at mattresses, but I'm ok with sofas.
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door

What I've found in over ten years of being a charity shop manager, is if you feel the price is too high then barter! A lot of managers feel frustrated by the guidelines and I found the successful charity shops are those with managers who encourage bartering. Those who don't often don't hit the strict sales targets and move on.

Really? I've always thought it would be really bad form to barter in a charity shop. I'd be too embarrassed but will bear it in mind for big price items.

You will always have the bargain hunters who hope to spot something of value in a Charity shop to profit from selling on, but there are people living in Poverty who hope to buy cheap goods to use.

I don't know if anyone remembers the bag that was bought in a charity shop in Kingston-upon-Thames that sold at auction for 6 figures?

I actually stopped to look at that bag in the CS and decided I'd never use it and passed on by. Is there a crying smiley anywhere?

    This was the bag:
