They are one of the cheap brands.0

I've got an old Alba DVD player in my bedroom. Ideal for occasional use but not something I'd rely on as my main box.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

E-mailing the MD of a company because one of their managers refused to accept an out-of-warranty return is not likely to yield anything.
Either pay yourself for the TV to be repaired (if it can be) or buy a new TV.
Budget brands are not known for reliability or after sales service.
Next time I suggest you go to John Lewis or Richer Sounds and purchase a better known brand with a five year guarantee.0
