UKPC Ticket

Hello all, I just wanted to say thanks to the people who have put together the helpful guide in this forum and also see if anyone has anything to add with respect to my specific situation.
About a week ago received a parking charge notice on my windscreen from UKPC for parking in one of the visitors bays of the unit block I live in (UK address) for too long (It was after a trip to the shops. Apparently there's a four hour limit. I was unaware at the time and completely forgot I was still in that spot but it is on the signs). In my defence it was a Sunday and there was a bunch of empty bays.
I know I should wait for the NtK before doing anything and then send the appeal template. That is the current plan. However, I was wondering about the obligations of these people to mitigate their so called "loss"? I mean the regular parking permit (with my flat number written on it) was on the dash. They could have knocked on the door if I was going to cause them a "loss" of 60 quid and I would have moved it pronto.

Why would they knock on your door and lose out on the possibility of getting their grasping fingers into your pocket?
Don't worry about the detail, because NO ONE from here on will, neither UKPC, POPLA, the DVLA nor the BPA.
So work with the NEWBIES FAQ sticky by, first off, awaiting the NtK. Do a bit of reading in the mean time because the NtK shouldnt arrive with you until after 28 days after your parking event and by day 56.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They have suffered no loss, nor has the landowner, so would be hard pressed jn a court to claim that they did,
You can ignore them, or you can cost them money at PoPLA.
Have a look at this

I thought I should follow up on this one. In the end appealed using one the templates on here. UKPC backed down and cancelled. Apparently as a gesture of good will. Perhaps they were visited by some ghosts over Christmas. :rotfl:0

Thanks for getting back to us, it's great to receive feedback on outcomes. It gives us up to date information on how various PPCs are currently operating/responding, and this helps others.
The really annoying and frustrating part of doing this is when you give loads of your own time over a number of days/weeks and the OP doesn't have the basic courtesy to drop a quick post to update us when things have been concluded.
Excellent outcome Technics. Now tell your family, friends and relatives that these charges are not 'fines' and they can quite easily be beaten via a forum appeal. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. They always do that now, even when they don't get a bat up their nightdress from a ghost!I thought I should follow up on this one. In the end appealed using one the templates on here. They don't like the forum appeal and know they'd lose at POPLA, so they bail out every time.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
