Selling at distance, what about V5C?
Quick question: I have sold a motorbike on eBay to a buyer in Scotland. I am in West Wales. The buyer is arranging collection by courier. What do I do about the V5C? The form says both buyer and seller must sign, but I won't be meeting him. Do I send the V5C to him and trust he will sign and post it on, or do I send it back to DVLA with just my signature and risk having it sent back as incomplete?
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

Now, I wouldn't recommend this, but since DVLA don't seem to actually use the signature for anything, it might well be possible just to scribble something in the signature box and send it off.
I would ask the buyer to send you a scanned proof of ID first though, just so you can be certain he's who he says he is, and then you'd have a copy of his signature too.
Not recommending this as I say, but I'm sure it's been done before...0 -

Sorry, what is pp?
The buyer seems a genuine guy and has paid in full, so I am not too concerned. Just wondering if there was a known solution. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

How did he pay?0

As above how they paid would be more of a concern than the V5C.
Paying by a method where they can reclaim their money?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Sounds like we could be expecting a post next week.. "sold my bike on eBay, now saying it hasnt arrived and Paypal have refunded the buyer..."0

The guy paid by bank transfer, funds are showing in my account, and the bike isn't due to be picked up for a week or so. I feel fairly safe there. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
