Old bank account

My father is in a care home with dementia, I believe there is an old account in my parents name with NS&I (national savings and investments), how can I find out if there are any funds left in it? ( This is an old type of account which NS&I don't provide any more) , I do not have power of attorney, are there any ways I can check for my father?
