Recommendations for a NAS drive anyone?

Hi all,
Following on from a similar thread on the board, can anyone recommend a decent NAS drive that will store all my media securely and allow me to stream it all to several devices (UPnP compatible)?
Seen several on Amazon but WD seem to be a major player with some so-so reviews. Any other brands you recommend?
Many thanks

Whats your budget? I'm a fan of the qnap stuff but it isn't cheap, otherwise buffalo do some decent devices for the price0

Budget is around £200. Not much, I know.

I use two of these - both 4Tb but very reliable and fairly easy to setup.
This is a good price...

I've been using Lacie Network Space for a while now, and they've been great.
There's an online portal to access info away from home too, and an iOS app.0 -
Each person will recommend whatever they are using. Your best bet is to read the reviews on sites like Techradar and see what suits your purpose best.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I use a dlink dns 230l , bought empty of drives , firstly fitted with an old 500g , now replaced by 2 x 2g wd drives (red) in raid 1 format.
now then , problems
I have about 12000 audio tracks and about 900 mp4 films , the media server is pathetic , It can take 5 or 6 hrs to update , yup , even then you have only added one single audio track.
the USB port is so slow that its not worth using
mine is set up via my router using a gig network card , and the dlink likes this , adding files 35/40 meg sec , taking files can exceed 60 meg/sec
funnily enough copying files from one directory on the nas to another is VERY slow.
I can use the dlink app on my android to stream music , but even with a 20 meg upload , I struggle to watch films0 -
QNAP, Thecus, Synology, ReadyNAS are all solid, WD MyBook is entry level.0

I bought my first NAS a few months ago for £100.
It's a 2TB Buffalo Link Station, was quite easy to set up and has so far it just has worked perfectly.
The other good thing about it is the email support. If you have a problem they usually reply within 24 hours.0
