Hi,
I hope this is the correct place to ask. We have a laptop and I really could do with a Microsoft office package going on to it. If I buy it through the laptop I think it costs somewhere around £120
Ideally we need word, publisher & excel. Out laptop is only 1 year old so I need a reasonably up to date package (windows 7 not windows 8 though!)
Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could purchase the disc for less than £100 as I just cannot warrant spending that!!
Thank you

I'd look at office 365 which is subscription based (family license costs 8 quid a month or 80 per annum) but it is a lot more flexible than a single office license install, and cheaper.
There are of course free alternatives as well (openoffice etc).0 -
Thank you, I will take a look at both these options.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Just read your post New Thrift and thought I would throw my tuppence into the mix. When it comes to Microsoft Office don't be put off by this whole Office 365 thing. There are some options. For example if you know someone with a copy of Office 2007 it works perfectly well on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. I am using it now with absolutely no difficulty at all and it is considerably cheaper than 365.
Alternatively if you are a student or know someone who is a student with a NUS card ask if they will purchase a copy for you online from the Microsoft site. You can save something like half the retail value on there. I originally purchased my Windows 8.1 from Microsoft for £49.99 as opposed to the ridiculous £120 that some of the high street retailers were offering.
I hope this helps in some way.0 -

Defeating the purpose of paying for it as you wouldn't be licensed to use it...0 -
Word and Excel are available as part of packages like Home & Student for about £70 depending on version. However wanting Publisher pushes you up into the Pro or Pro Plus area with the added expenseThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Might be worth checking where you work to see if they have a deal with MS, my workplace and my wife's workplace offers Office Pro for £10 for the download and £20 if you want the disc and that licence allows you to install on 3 devices.0
