Sensor for outside led floodlight

I recently purchased a 50w led floodlight for my drive which does not have a PIR. The reason I purchased without a PIR is because I purchased a remote control kit so I can switch it on with a remote when I get to my drive. The remote kit is useless so I now want to add a sensor.
Does anyone know of any other types of sensor that are more accurate than a PIR. I want to be able to adjust the distance to within 1 metre so the light does not come on every time a car goes down the road past my house.

Items such as the link below (Screwfix) have a selections of little masks that restricts what the PIR can 'see'. You simply attach then to the lens at the front and they block off various bits.
According to the manual for this PIR, there is a mask included that snaps to the top of the sensor that specifically restricts the longer range detection.
Either angle the PIR down or attach the plastic mask that restricts the longer range.

Ive got a mask attached to the left of a PIR at the back of my house that stops a large bush from setting off the outside light every time the wind blows.
On the PIR I had before this one - I simply put insulation tape over part of the lens (although I had to replace that every few months as the rain washed it off)
Hope this helps.0
