Also there is no longer a method of unlocking an iphone through jailbreaking and hasn't been for a number of years.

Not true, simple Google search produces many methods

    e.g. http://www.redmondpie.com/ios-8-jailbreak-status-update/

Which part of that link states that a phone can be unlocked via jailbreaking?

Jailbreaking and unlocking are completely different, Jailbraeaking is currently available up to IOS 8.1 (current software) however the beta for 8.1.1 has been patched. Unlocking has not been available via a software unlock for at least 3 years using this method (UltraSn0w), therefore I stand by my previous statement, there is no way to software unlock a current iphone by jailbreaking your phone (from 4s - even the 3, 3GS and 4 requires the correct baseband and firmware)

Any site claiming they can unlock your phone via software is either a virus or a scam to get you to part with your hard earned cash.

I don't think you have.....The phones from giffgaff are unlocked and network free...

All the latest iPhones are sold unlocked, they lock to the first SIM inserted though.
