Pillow recommendation needed!

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have a good pillow recommendation?
The problem is that I love a feather pillow but my husband is allergic so we have to stick with a synthetic filling.
However, any pillows we buy start out all plump but end up really flat within a few weeks.
Has anyone got a good pillow recomendation? Nothing too firm and a nice, plump pillow is a must!

Thanks all x

I wouldn't be without my Tempur pillow. Takes a bit of getting used to but I really miss it when on holiday.

I use this memory foam core one by silent night. Feels light and soft on the outside, but a bit of firmness in the middle. I also have a pure memory foam one, but we call it 'the brick' so you can guess what it is like!

I have just bought the john lewis tempur equivalent. Took me a good few weeks to get used to it but it has helped my neck problems no end. Not as expensive as a tempur pillow so good to try.

Another vote for tempur cloud. Great pillows. Er have them plus the mattress and they work wonderfully. No flat pile and great back and neck!

but we bought them as a treat over 15 months ago and they are still going strong! lovely and comfy and still plump up nicely. when I think of how much I would have spent on other pillows that go flat in a couple of months they were worth it.
  • How attached are you to your husband?

I can't bear synthetic - it has to be feather and down for me all the way.
  • I love my feather pillows so it's a good job I also love my antihistamines :D

I also hoover the pillows once a week.

After investigating the source of some wonderful pillows that I slept soundly on in an hotel, I was thrilled to find this company online:

Gailarde - you just add .co.uk

I am an insomniac and have spent most of my adult life trying to find comfy supporting pillows!

I've tried all prices and all designs from feather to memory foam and combinations thereof and in between!

I now have the Gailarde "extra bounce" synthetic pillows which are under £10 each (though there is a delivery charge for online/mail orders) and find them the best I have ever had.

Its all a matter of personal comfort but I cannot recommend these too highly.

I have two M&S memory foam pillows. £20 each, but they made all the difference in the world to my neck.

I also have a memory foam mattress - I used to wake up in so much pain (because of the pain, in fact), but now I can sleep all the way through. I can't sleep on other mattresses now, not without consequences.

Could you not buy synthetic for your husband and some anti-allergy pillow protectors for your feather pillows?

I would give everything a go before giving up my feathers, in fact I'd probably rather not sleep with him than have synthetic pillows!
