When I was a child, many years ago, it was possible to have the family luggage collected from the home, delivered to the holiday house then it was picked up and returned.
These days, I would be interested in using such a service due to back pain. I know it can be done but just wondered if anyone has had recent experience of doing this, good or bad. I am thinking, at the moment of a holiday in Cornwall from our home in Hertfordshire.

You could use a carrier to send a box for around £10 on a next day service but someone will need to be there to receive it which could ruin a day of your holiday if you need to stay in for hours. For the return trip you will need to be able to book online and usually print out labels. Carriers only (normally) work Monday to Friday.
There seem to be lots of potential problems if a delivery or collection is missed for instance.
Try looking on Parcel2go or comparcel for prices. I would stick with next day delivery services.0 -
Some very expensive boutique hotels offer this service (as does Buckingham Place & Chequers). They come around and pack for you (your butler would look after the packers, and go with them) and they are ready in wardrobe when you get there, as would be your butler.

My parents have used this type of service several times . Cases picked up from house leaving them free to travel light of luggage and have been waiting for them when they have arrived at their destination . Same for return journey only their cases arrive after they return home obviously . They holiday by train and it is a great service for them with no luggage to take with them .0
