Ok so I am going to venture into the smartphone world myself.

My phone is not working properly, it's one that slides and if I slide it down the screen goes black, so have been carrying it around extended for last couple of weeks. :o

I have no idea what sort of phone I need to be able to do these cashback deals etc. What recommendations would people make? Are Iphones really the best or would this cheap Samsung smartphone I found on Argos be ok, I can use £10 voucher I already have from buying DD's Iphone.

    TIA

glad you asked this question Tiny I am also venturing into the modern world :p my old brick is playing up was getting a new phone for birthday but did not know what to choose.. :p so put it of was also looking at the samsung from argos so peoples opinions would be gratefully received....:D

I have tentatively reserved a refurb iphone as I can afford it but not sure I want to spend that much money on a phone. :o

I bought a Motorola Moto G from Tesco a few months ago - does everything I need from a smartphone and the battery life is reasonable. I would definitely recommend - £119 but it's in the double-up/boost at the moment.

I got a Moto G 8Gb PAYG last year around oct/nov for £89 plus about £2 to unlock it to use with giffgaff.

This was the deal long since expired but I'm still so impressed with the phone I thought it worth mentioning as a barometer so to speak.

Imho it's about as 'good' as an iPhone 4S but ofc is Android not Apple.

Edit: it runs MSL, shopit, cs, cos without any problems too.

I'm seriously thinking about getting another one as my 'backup' phone for my 'other' ;) cashback accounts.

EDIT: The non-contract phone is currently £149 in T. But double-up would help!
