It's a few pounds but I wouldn't send a passport recorded I'd use Special Delivery instead, recorded quite often doesn't track.

Its not supposed to is it that is tracked delivery recorded just means they sign for it at the other end

I tried a new receipt with my A APG app barcode scanner and again not working as coming back NA for everywhere - does this mean I definitely now have to upgrade the app?

A real shame as the scanner was handy rather than typing in - more of a downgrade :(.

    Many thanks

    Morning all.

Got to send an unexpired passport off today that needs renewing very soon. Does anyone know if I will be ok with a 1st class stamp ???
Or will it need weighing at the post office for postage please?
The envelope contains Passport, 2 photos and a sheet of A4 paper.
    Thankyou in advance xx

Sent my sons 1st class recorded a couple of weeks ago. Was back within the week. :T

Personally, I wouldn't send documents like that anything other than signed for.

If it's less than 100g and 0.5cm thickness then you'd be fine with a standard stamp; otherwise it's be a large letter...but I wouldn't use either method personally.

It'll be a large letter for thickness I would imagine, but you're better sending recorded so it doesn't go missing in the post.

Recorded delivery (signed for) would add extra protection in this case; item is covered up to £50 (rather than £20). It's also useful for proof of delivery with a signature from the receiving end. Good for eBay sellers with high value-ish items to prevent fraudulent claims.

Special delivery is a bit more pricey...but if you're considering that then it may be worth sending it free via a courier; collected from your door with next day delivery.

    ;)
