Where to buy in London? 1/2 bed, 650-700k

Hello,
I work in Central London and have been saving for a deposit for nearly 10 years (!) now. I currently rent in Farringdon and while I love the area, the prospect of paying 650k for an averaged sized 1-bed isn't too enticing.
I am therefore looking at other parts of London.
My requirements:
- modern building, or, IDEALLY, a warehouse conversion. Not a terraced house
- good transport links to Central London
So far number one on my short list is Wapping, where I can get a decent sized 2-bed for 650-700k, or an a really nice (river views, high standard, 800sq ft) 1 bed. Greenwhich is another option.
Any other ideas please?
Something on the northern line perhaps?
Thanks!

Try Islington0 -
Where in central London do you work? For £700K, you could easily be within walking distance of the City. Wapping certainly is."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0

thanks for your replies.
I work just off the Strand near Charing Cross, so Northern or District/Circle lines would work out perfectly. But I could also consider the train to Charing Cross station (from Greenwhich, perhaps), and ideally - take the bus (which I do from Farringdon).
In theory, that gives me quite a lot of options, but I really would prefer a warehouse conversion or a modern building, and some entertainment (restaurants, bars, etc) nearby. Not a residential, family area.
Islington sounds good. Not the right branch of Northern Line, but other than that, a fantastic area.0 -
I'm in Paddington and I like it. We're a bit short of converted warehouses round here but there are a fair few purpose-built places. You can get pretty much everywhere from Paddington and Lancaster Gate or even venture onto a bus. Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens is just down the road. Edgware Road, Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill and Kensington within walking distance, as is the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street (Selfridges, Primark, M&S).
It's not dirt cheap, but then Zone One isn't.0 -
There are some warehouse conversions in the Royal Arsenal estate in Woolwich. Possibly a little further out than you wanted, but the estate will have a Crossrail station so transport wise it's OK.
Edit: scratch that - I see you want restaurants/bars etc, and Woolwich something of a desert in that respect! It's very close to the O2 (on the Thames Clipper), but doesn't have anything much itself.0
