How much cash?

Just wondering if you good people can help. We are booked for a week all inclusive next year to Tenerife.

Never been all inclusive before but we do plan to leave the place we are staying at for at least a couple of day trips so to speak.

How much cash would you take just for a couple no children?

Well the trip to take on Tenerife. is up Mount Teide a volcano.About £40 each on a pick up from your hotel by coach. Well worth it .

But if you don't pay the extra to go on the cable car, there is a lot of hanging around at the car park. Also the cable car often is cancelled, high winds.
But if it is cancelled you may get a further drive into the crater, that was the high light.

Perhaps another would be over to Los Gigantess , cliffs are 'high'

Where on the Island are you going .
Ai you wont need to eat out ,and a glass of beer is ridiculously cheap at any bar.

Cash , I would find it difficult to spend more than a couple of hundred pounds.
  • If you stick with your AI and never leave the hotel you could do it for nothing.

On a "relax" holiday £200 in two weeks for three of us (including one chilled teen) is more than enough.

Others might prefer to sample eating outside the hotel (AI buffets can feel repetitive), do trips etc. so they would need more.

A suitable credit card in reserve can be useful if you do want to do more - better than taking a wad of Euros you then don't use.

When we were there last month...

Large beer: €1 to €1.50 (some bars were even doing them for 90 cents, but you couldn't get in!). Some will do these prices all day, but most only until 7pm or so. Expect to pay €3 to €3.50 if you want 'entertainment' with it.

    Coffee: €1.30 to €2

La Gomera trip: €52 including lunch

    Was it worth it?

I've often stared at the place but never quite been convinced to part with the cash.

    Good crossing
Good tour guide (4-5 languages spoken)
Whistling demonstration entertaining, but accompanying 'typical Canarian lunch' was poor.
It is a beautiful island though, and San Sebastian reminded me a little of Symi (if you've been?).

Was it worth it? I'd rather have paid €40 (or less), but when you factor in a ferry, coach, lunch, and services of a tour guide it'd be hard to trim it I'd imagine. The 'list price' (in many TAs) was €62, and most of them were charging €54 to €56, so when I saw one doing it for €52 I thought "why not?".

I was being polite. Here's the menu:
    • Bland soup and hard roll
    • Undercooked chicken leg, Canarian potatoes (they don't do owt for me), rice, and a sauce
    • A banana (that Tesco would have 'wasted') and a scoop of vanilla ice cream
But I don't think you can do the trip without 'lunch'?

Going to be between Los Christianos and Playa De Los Americas about half way between them.

That's where we were (and is my favourite area).

Then a trip west on a local bus is the way to go. Los Gigantes , not a full day, but the bus ride is very easy.
