antivirus protector?

hi i've just been emailed telling me my mcafee is up for renewal in the next 60 days last year i paid £40 for multi pc antivirus this year they want £75.. someone told me about a free antivirus checker with firewall but canot remember what its call can anyone recommend any either cheaper or free... Thanks in advance x

It was probably Avast but there are a fair few free .
If you bank online with Barclay's Kaspersky Internet Security is free .

Don't ever pay for antivirus software, there are so many very good free versions available.

Whatever you choose remember to uninstall Mcafee properly first.

Been using Avast free edition for years and have had no issues.


Just make sure you fully uninstall all elements of McAfee http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/mcafee_consumer_product_removal_tool.html
