Hi,
Has anyone actually reached their projected break even date, or happy that they are on course to meet it?
Has anyone even reached / surpassed this and are now in positive territory?
Would give encouragement to us newbies to hear from you.

My SSW will be done for year 6
My WNW is not so lucky at year 10-11(but I always knew that)
The FiT hasn't been going long enough as yet for anyone to reach positive territory, maybe a couple of years and "some" should start seeing their systems paid off.

You're feeling positive and confident in your decision to install solar and that's to be welcomed.
I suppose I wouldn't be asking this question if this was Spain.
I just hope our summers continue as we have just experienced.

I'm very positive. The payback figures above are only based on returns via the FiT. Considering that my electric consumption has gone from 8000kWh+ a year to nearer 3000kWh a year with a few upgrades(white goods) and the introduction of solar then the payback will be much sooner2 kWp SEbE , 2kWp SSW & 2.5kWp NWbW.....in sunny North Derbyshire17.7kWh Givenergy battery added(for the power hungry kids)0

Only had my system 7 months but reckon payback will occur in year 6 - performance has been hugely better than expected.
It really is a no-brainer on a south facing roof.0 -
My system has repaid just over 50% of the installed cost so expecting full payback in under 7 years ... providing nothing "breaks".

I need to earn £12000 to break even.
It's a bit too much like hard work to look out all the individual payments but since I'm currently getting fractionally under 50ppu it's fairly safe to assume that will be the average price per unit when I've generated just over twice as much in which case I'm hoping to reach break even point around seven years after installation (or a bit later if I get any unexpected extra costs).NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -
I'm not sure what my break even period actually is, let alone if I'm achieving it. As I installed it immediately after returning from abroad I've got no baseline on which to base fuel savings. Given that my 9 months energy bill will probably total less than £150, and that I've used the gas for hot water 3/4 times since the end of March, so no inefficient cycling of the boiler, I'm happy enough. Boiler maintenance costs should also be slightly reduced.
Another way I look at it is that I've turned my rainy day cash ISA (locked in due to living abroad) from an annual 'return' of £35 to an income stream of £50+ a month, plus no fuel bill worries.0 -
On track for seven year payback0

On Track for Next Christmas.
2 years 9 months in, should be 1 year 1 month to go..(3 years 10 months to break even)0 -

Really? How have you managed that??0
