Interchange fee caps

I keep getting emails and seeing on facebook prompts to sign a petition against interchange fee caps. The prompt comes from a site called mycardmatters.com and it says the fee caps are bad for the consumer and serve to benefit the rich. The site has a video spelling out the issue and urges you to sign up to the petition.
When I've searched online other sites say the fee caps are good for consumers. Is this a big business fightback scam?

There's another thread on MSE about this asking people to sign a petition.
I won't. Industry pressure groups protecting industry practices are unlikely to be acting in my best interests.0 -
Thanks for the reply that was my thoughts too sadly a lot of people will only hear that its bad for them so will sign.

Couldn't find the other thread not sure if I'm using the right search criteria?0
