car hire hell in spain

hello everyone,
i was wondering if anyone could offer suggestions of who to hire a car with in spain. i have been looking all over the interweb and it is a complete minefield !!
i don't have a credit card and i don't really want to have to leave a ridiculously high deposit and don't even get me started on the fuel situation.
all i need is a mid size car for 6 days pay in full with debit card, no hidden costs and from murcia airport and 1 extra driver.

99.9999999% of car hire complaints will be down to people who let themselves be pressured into accepting additional unnecessary add-ons at the counter and who don't have the sense to argue with the hire car company when they try to chance it when they return a car.

Choose a hire car company with a full to full fuel policy and don't take any crap off them and you will be ok.

And get a credit card......

When's the trip? You could apply for and get a credit card in a couple of weeks. Useful for hotels and, as you've found out, hiring cars.

I used to work for Holiday Auto's & most car hire companies require a credit card imprint, unless your just hiring for a day or so.
