G24 contractal parking charge notice

Hello, I have been reading posts from this forum including the Newbies one but I am still confused and overwhelmed by this situation. I have received a contractual parking charge notice from G24 for parking 43 minutes when the limit was 15 minutes in Argos when I was waiting for my product at the desk.

I am sorry to trouble everyone as I have tried to follow the Newbies advice but confused as I have also read posts saying it doesn't follow popla anymore and the letter template says popla? Sorry, My English is not great. Also I don't know when to appeal because the only way of appealng is by letter or online. Online would be my choice but I'm not sure because when I tried, they asked me for so much details. Would it be mistake to give it to them?

Sorry I am really terrified for I cannot afford to be deducted points,
thank you to all that help, I really not sure what to do.

    - this doesn't put points on your driving licence, it's a scam fake fine!

If it was since G24 joined the IPC then ignore it. What date was the parking event?

  • Oh sorry, it happened on 17 October. I was wondering if Argos actually has ties with G24, it just puzzles me for its a quite big company
  • I'd also like to add what will happen if I ignore and will they ask for more? Would it be advisble to complain to Argo in the store?

Yes complain to the Argos Store manager and put a complaint on the Argos facebook page. If there is more than one retailer you may need to move your complaint to the actual landowner instead.

Nothing happens except a load of boring junk mail from debt collectors, no it doesn't affect your credit rating. G24 have never tried a small claim.

  • thank you so much! You've put an end to my constant worrying for 2 days
  • Sorry for so many question but I forgot to ask, should I admit to being the driver when complaining to Argos? Or in the conversation with the manager do I keep say 'the driver' all the time? Thanks again

No, you should always challenge as registered keeper - even on here as this place and others are watched by the parasitic parking company's (PPCs )

Good question - I think I would say 'we' the whole time, if you can.

'We got this parking ticket and the only reason was because we were delayed at your desk collecting goods, here's our receipt as proof. Can you cancel this or can you tell me who will? Is it Argos Head Office 'we' need to contact, or the landowner, or can you cancel it as this is ridiculous and I've spent 3 days worrying about it. Don't tell me to appeal it, English isn't my first language and this company has just moved to an appeals system that is not a good one, so why should I have to beg to a parking company about this ? Surely for good customer service there is someone here who cancels these fake parking tickets? '

While you are there complaining in person (don't park in the 15 minute bay!) take a photo of the G24 signs there and come back here and show it to us. If the Store manager won't cancel it then the sign would be useful if you want to try an appeal. It may not be worth appealing but the sign makes all the difference.
