Retuns from customer

Hi
I am a very small business and sold a item to someone in the USA ..
When they got said item they wanted to return which is fine.
I am just curious do I have to refund the entire amount including my postage to them but not return postage
or do I just refund item cost..

thanks

not sure where you stand as they are in the USA so the UK selling regulations wouldn't apply (if UK it would be full refund inc postage).

I would personally go for a refund of the product first and see where you stand if you have no T&C's in place to cover this. Worse case they kick up a fuss and then you refund the postage, take the hit and learn from it.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.
  • Yeah I normally do a full refund as I have a set delivery price ... Although I do have next day but have said in my terms will only refund the basic..
Maybe will start with that and see what they say

Is this correct? The customer is in the USA but the transaction took place here so I would have assumed that UK law would apply.

hence the not sure and try partial first.

  • Well I refunded her with the basic deliver fee and she seems happy with that . So I am happy too ,now all I need to do is re sell a goblet
Although at least it is a high selling product
