boiler problems on govt grant

In July 2013 I had acombi boiler installed under the government scheme. In January I realised that it had a slow leak, I got up in the morning and water had come through the ceiling above the stairs. I had had to top up the boiler twice with water and I had rang the company that fitted it, they had advised that the system was just "bedding in". Anyway I rang the company they came round said it was the filter, tightened it up and took photos etc. The ceiling was ruined plaster wet and decorating ruined. After numerous non returned phone calls I complained officially, someone came round and practically accused me of doing it myself to get decorating done! The next letter said that their insurers had told them because the boiler had been installed in July and the leak happened in January it couldn't be their fault. I got some advice from CAB who advised to take them to small claims court, but the fees have gone up so I haven't done anything about it yet.
Anyway the pressure had dropped on the system this morning and I had to top it up again with water. Now I have realised it is leaking again, luckily the ceiling is just damp and still damaged from last time, but who's responsibility is it? If I get an emergency plumber out, I will have to pay for it. There is unlikely to be anyone at the company now it is Saturday evening. Has anyone got any advice for me?

Unless the boiler is inherently faulty, which you would have to get an independent report to confirm, I would say its no-ones responsibility other then yours.

It's your house so your responsibility.

I wouldn't say the boiler is faulty, but I think the filter probably is. I would have thought it would still be under guarantee but my problem is I didn't buy it (installed under govt scheme) which seems to leave me with less rights.
    Thank you for your reply.

the installation guarantee runs out after 12 months, however, the manufacturer may have offered a longer guarantee.

Has it been serviced since it's been installed?

The reason I ask is that a manufacturer guarantee will only stay live as long as the boiler has been serviced every 12 months for the duration of the guarantee.

Phone the manufacturer and see what they say.
