Another npower rant
What is it with npower that they cant sort their systems out?
Soon after inputting my meter readings last month the website showed my next bill due on 7th November and the message send us your meter reading now!!
Then I started getting emails and a phone call reminding me to send meter readings urgently. As I explained to the caller, I send my meter readings on 1st of every month.
After yet another email I gave in and sent the readings on 28th October. The site has registered this, the promise of a bill on 7th November has disappeared, and it now says next bill is due in April 15.
The energy usage tool is currently showing a forecast of 348 in October and wont update when I put in the actual readings today. The actual is 172. Prior to putting the meter readings in on 28th it was forecasting 2282, then 774 then 732. The forecasts for Nov and Dec are above 4000....
I am nearly 450 in credit and at the last bill in July they put my DD up to 125. I rang and argued this and it returned to the current level.
It is a total shambles and I filled in the forms for a switch today.

Just had another look. I now have a bill, am 300 in credit and they want to put my DD up by 17 a month.
Also noticed I paid 20 for gas used and 57 for the standing charge !0 -
Yeah they've never been able to just set the DD at a constant level. Mine always doubles or halves twice a year, despite my usage being roughly the same this past 8 years.
Back in May at my last bill I had a DD of £60 and credit of £250 so they reduced the DD to a ridiculous £21. Next bill due at the end of the month so I ought to be roughly even by then (I use £55 a month with no GCH on).
I'll be curious to see what their system puts the DD up to!0 -
The only problem I've ever had was that, at 6 monthly bill time, they had not logged a reading by a visiting meter reader, so had not charged me for energy since the last bill.
I knew that I couldn't be £600 in credit so rang up and the correct bill was calculated on the spot, £30 compensation paid and the new amended bill (including the £30) sent within days.
I was about to leave, this time, until I noticed that a tariff, which ends today, was cheaper than all but two other companies (which I didn't want to use).
I rang to confirm the tariff figures and transfer, being free to change to tomorrow's new tariff, if cheaper. The operator, calculated my bill to date (which agreed with my figures within pence) and told me the new dd amount, which was less than before.0 -

Hello Nual,
Thank you for your post.
If you can email me your account details to the address on my profile page I will look into your account and see if there are any better tariffs for you, and look into your bills.
Thanks
