Hopefully I'm in the right place! I have a photo that I would like to have printed on to a memorial item, however the quality isn't great as it has already been cropped from a bigger picture and is rather hazy! Does anyone know of any free software I could try please?

How big is the image and how big do you want to print it?0

It's on my laptop, it says dimensions 205 x 241, if that helps? The space on the item I want it printed on is 8 x 7 cm. Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass

To be honest, think that you are going to struggle. The image would need to be around four times that size to print properly at 8 by 7 cm. Three times at a pinch.
You could try one of the fractal based resizing tools like SmillaEnlarger. I've never used it bit it is free.

If you use picasa (free) click on the photo, then click on "I'm feeling lucky", the photo is improved considerably. Every time I receieve a photo in emails, I send it to picasa, improve it before saving it.
There are lots of other opportunities to change ie lighten, colour, etc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
205*241 pixels and will be at 72dpi. So to print at 7*8, not a chance.

It's 96 dpi, if that makes any difference whatsoever. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass

Not much - you really need to get access to the original, or a higher resolution scan/copy of it.0 -

That's interesting because I found exactly the opposite. Pictures I hosted on Picasa were so degraded that I stopped using it.0
