Has anyone got one of these? Just looking for real life reviews or opinions on them. It seems to tick all my boxes as far as storing my music, home files and also store my dvd collection for streaming straight to my smart TVs and iPads

I have one. It does all it says on the tin. Streams anything I have on it to the network. I have watched movies that are stored on it when I've been the other end of the country, streamed to a tablet. I use it for backup and that is all just automated. You can use either their smartware or Windows 'File History' if you have W8, or any other 3rd party software for backup.
Really easy to set up as well..
I don't think I've touched it since I first set it up, it sits silently doing what it does...Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Did you rip your own dvd films onto it?
It's something I'd like to do. Put my dvd collection onto the hard drive and eventually box up my DVDs and put them into the loft0 -
No, I haven't ripped any DVD's onto it. I haven't used a DVD player for a long time. However, there is no reason why you cannot. It's like any other external hard drive.bridgedino wrote: »Did you rip your own dvd films onto it?

You would just rip the DVD's and put the save destination to a folder on the MyCloud. I store my downloaded films on it for streaming and it would be no different for your collection.
It has a USB slot, so you could even attach a portable hard drive to it if required.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I've got one and use it for storing a films on and streaming them to my tv. Really easy to rip the dvds to your hard drive using makemkv and then just copy them to the drive.
Be aware though that it doesn't have the ability to transcode the files so you may experience playback issues depending on how you plan on watching the content.0 -
