Finally getting rid of the debts!!

Hellooo everyone

I have been lurking on here for quite a while reading everyone's diaries and decided that it's time to start my own.
We (me and hubby) have debts that have come from hubby previous relationship initially he owed over 20 thousand to different creditors however since we have been together we have manager to bring them down to only 3 creditors. Not bad considering we have moved house got married and had a baby :). We also have a debt with ikano and one credit card with santander. In total we owe

Creditor 1 1173.10 (paying off 50 PCM)
Creditor 2 1298.83 ( paying off 80 PCM )
Creditor 3 4121.33 ( shouldn't be this much but company couldn't find hubby so started charging interest now no interest is being charged paying off 80 PCM)

All creditors are interest free

Ikano 320 ( paying off 25 PCM interest free)
Santander 2520 ( interest free until august 15 paying off 250 PCM so should be payed by time interest free period is over)

We have also booked a holiday ( I know I know but hey ho) which is going to cost 6000 so need to pay for that by July

Also have dd who is 2 and another on the way but luckily have most stuff from dd so will only need to buy nappies wipes etc and done clothes if it's a boy :)

Aiming to have paid off everything except perhaps holiday ( which may need to go on a interest free cc and pay it off a few months after we get back. And the largest creditor by august/sept

We are lucky we earn a good wage although childcare takes a big chunk! And are pretty sensible with money ( takeaway and coffee are our downfall!)

Will be posting on here as I go
And tips to help save/earn some more pennies will be greatful received
:) thank you for reading

  • Ok so today has been a pretty productive day. I have blitzed the house and taken a whole bag down to cash for clothes only got 3.27! But still. Have a huge pile of things to sell, listed 5 items on ebay last weekend and they will end tomorrow, no bids or watchers yet but we will see. Also sold 2 things of Facebook so that's 20.00 in the penny pot.

We have an electric penny pot where we save any coins we have spare or put and money we get from selling once we get enough in money bags/ notes we pop it in the bank :) pit is up to 73.00 now so will be visiting bank Monday

  • Ok well today has been quite productive. Managed to sell a few things in Facebook totalling 13.00 just need to drop 1 thing off either today or tomorrow and other items are being collected today.

Popped into town and managed to spend 10 on pull-ups but went for supermarket own brand which was a lot cheaper! And dd wanted a chocolate penguin 69p!! They were 3 for 1.09 so brought 3 2 can be sticking fillers!

I need to list a few more things ok Facebook/ebay this afternoon once baby has gone to sleep and hoping they will sell. :)
