Fiat Auto (UK) Ltd

I am trying to find out where i stand with the following .
i have bought a van from a brokerage in northern uk in july 07 ;
fiat ducato maxi 3 L. xlwb high roof . 2 years unlimited mileage .(it has covered 151000 miles so far)
this vehicle has developped a fault , we sent it to fiat dealership in exeter under warranty on the 1st of december .
we collected it the first time on the 9th , after driving for 30 miles , the fault reappeared , we took it back and they've been trying to fix it until today , i got a call telling me the van is fixed , i collected it this afternoon only for the fault to reappear 25 miles later .
i have had to hire a van for 3 weeks to cover my work total cost so far £1250 (fiat has agreed to pay half), fiat cannot supply us with a replacement because we go abroad with it .
what action can i take (if any ) to have the manufacturer or supplier of the vehicle to cover the whole cost of van hire while mine is being fixed .or to obtain an exchange vehicle.
best regards to all

Hi, unfortunatley, neither the supplier or the manufacturer are under any legal obligation to compensate you for this. You should find yourself very lucky that Fiat have agreed to pay half already. Fiat are a great company when it comes to things like this. As long as they can show that they are repairing the vehicle and in a reasonable amount of time, you really dont have much to work with, "Reasonable time is not defined by law" i.e 1 week 2 weeks or 10 weeks, what is reasonable? Good Luck0

I imagine the van has either been repaired or scrapped by now.
