I have just been flicking through my bank statements and I have been hit twice for accidentally overdrawing my spending account. Once for £25 and once for £50. In both cases I transferred money from my savings the following day to get it back into the black.
Now £75 isn’t a lot of money but it does feel like I got shafted a bit here. Is it worth trying to recover this or am I just going to aggravate my bank for an insignificant sum?

They wouldn't think twice about asking you for it would they? I'd give it a go,the amount in these cases isn't the point - it's the amount they charge you that's the concern.0

If this is your first "offence", you might just get them to refund you the money as a goodwill gesture by phoning them up and asking nicely. It's worth a try.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Trust me, I do see this as a matter of principle, just unsure if I want to risk becoming a Marta for a measly £70.
<O:p</O:pI have had no other problems with HSBC, staff always friendly and helpful etc and I have £5000 ISA plus another £1000 in savings with them not to mention a handful of automatic bill payments that I don’t want to mess up. It would be really really annoying if they decided to close all my accounts as ‘punishment’.

Might start with the friendly phone call and see what they say…0 -
Good point and as you say a phone call won't hurt, def worth a try before deciding if you want to take it further.0
