Parking Eye Notice

Hi Everyone
Can someone please help? I have today received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye showing my car entering and leaving a local car park and stating that I did not purchase a valid parking ticket. However, the reason I didn't purchase a ticket was due to the fact that I was still in bed and my car was parked outside my house. I know this because it was the day after my 50th birthday and, as such, I was in no fit state to drive anywhere!
The photos are very small but it is definitely my registration and looks like my car. I do use the car park in question occasionally, just not on this occasion. Could their equipment be wrong? I can think of no other explanation for this situation. How do I get better photos and how do I appeal this?

Does no-one else drive your car then?

I would read the 'Newbies please read these FAQs first' sticky thread so you understand how to appeal, in most cases. But then in your case you may prefer to just go online to PE (having read the newbies thread so you are ready for POPLA if you have to) and state that:

You have sent me a parking charge notice showing what purports to be my car entering and leaving a local car park on a certain date, and you have stated that 'the driver' did not purchase a valid parking ticket. However, on that date/at that time I was still in bed and my car was parked outside my house. I know this because it was the day after my 50th birthday and, as such, I was in no fit state to drive anywhere and no-one else drives the vehicle. Clearly there has been no loss because you have made a mistake. As a family with various cars, we do use the car park in question occasionally, just not on this occasion so I assume you have muddled up some photos from another date and your ANPR system is flawed. Send me a POPLA code so I can tell POPLA there was 'no GPEOL' - because clearly there wasn't - or cancel it now.

Sorry but this is my first ever forum so what is, and where do I find, this sticky thread? Also what is POPLA?
I am single and I am the only person that drives my car.

We always have newbies who haven't used a forum before, but you need to learn how. You don't appear to have tried to look for it? The sticky thread is called 'Private parking ticket, old or new? Newbies please read these FAQs first!' and it tells you what POPLA is as well. It's currently second from the top of this forum. You MUST read that thread. I will NOT link it as that doesn't help you, it never helps if newbies can't use the forum.

I have no idea how people click on 'New Thread' like you have and yet haven't read any threads. Where did you find the blue 'New Thread' button if you didn't sit there looking at page one in the first place?

Explanations :

Parking EyeSpy's ANPR equipment is seriously faulty and failing to adhere to their 17 point check list - This is highly likely has they do use a system which is not live - there is a full explanation on one of Guy Dad's threads.

This also is not the first time this has happened.

OR

Your car registration number was cloned on this occasion.

However, I think that maybe YOU should be reminded of one of the forum 'rules' yourself. Use the Etiquette button (clue: it appears once on this page).

I respectfully suggest you wind your neck in and go and look for the Sticky thread for NEWBIES mentioned by C-M rather than antagonise the very person who has spent hundreds of hours of her own unpaid time creating and updating the NEWBIES thread with all the information you need to beat this parking lie scam.


She created the thread so people like you and me have all the information needed without having to do all the leg work.

How does a newbie click 'new thread' if they didn't start on page one, that's what I fail to understand? And sitting looking at page one surely drags your eye to a few threads, especially one 2nd from the top, in capital letters, begging Newbies to 'read these FAQs first'?

Sorry - I do post in frustration sometimes as we have this same old thing every day! It's very, very wearing. It's the reason I wrote the Newbies sticky, to help people help themselves and to avoid the constant 'help, I haven't read a single thread but - what do I do?' threads. And I specially added the post in the sticky explaining all the forum acronyms to help Newbies - almost all the people here are Newbies who are all new to this, mostly new to forums as well.

I thought posting the 'new to the forum?' link was the best place for you to start, as it shows what's what.

Okay here’s my take on this......


You all know how to navigate and use this site inside out and back to front because you are all probably very computer savvy and because you’ve been using the site for a very long time. Unfortunately, not everyone is like you, me included. It takes me an awfully long time to understand and find out how things like this work and even longer to become familiar with them enough to be able to use them competently. But I do try hard and until I reach this point I ask questions, even though these may seem to be stupid ones in everybody else's book.

I’m sorry, but I don’t know how I managed to navigate past all of the links that you told me to look at retrospectively, and I’ve only just found some of the threads you have told me about. This may indicate to you that I’m stupid or thick. I’m neither. But this site IS incredibly hard for some of us to navigate and understand. It isn’t as clear and straightforward as you perceive it to be for someone who is new to the site and maybe this is something that does need to be looked at.

But does my ignorance really deserve a reply of “Wind your neck in!” Really??? Maybe some of you have been on this site a little too long and have forgotten that you’re actually talking to another person and not some mythical cyber-space being.

Thank you for your time Coupon-mad and all of the hard work and dedication you have given to this site. It is appreciated and I’m sorry if I caught you on a bad day or that my lack of knowledge tried your patience.
