What information/communication should be expected from EA following offer accepted

Offer accepted by vendor about 3 weeks ago subject to them finding a property.
I had verbal communication from the EA that the offer was accepted (nothing in writing/by email) they took my solicitor details and the listing changed to 'sold stc'
I have heard nothing since and am concerned that I have not had anything confirmed officially.
I am going to phone the EA to put my mind at rest but is this normal practice?

I got a memorandum of sale after about a week. I had the vendors solicitor details amoungst a few over details. If they haven't found anywhere to buy yet then they wouldn't have instructed solicitors so maybe sales memos will be sent out when they are more ready to proceed.0

Thanks SG27.
I haven't received one yet but it does make me worry how committed the vendor is. The EA insisted I gave my solicitor details before they would place it as sale agreed so I wonder why not the vendor and alarm bells are ringing slightly.
I recently got a buyer on mine and my EA asked that I appointed a solicitor straight away even if nothing was processed with them until I found a property.
I have still been viewing other properties but there is not much else about that is suitable.0 -
We had an offer accepted on the house we want to buy on the 10th October and were also expecting to receive a memorandum of sale, having received one for our sale a couple of days after we'd accepted an offer on our house.
However, we did receive a letter from the vendor's EA stating that our offer had been accepted - but no solicitor's details for the vendor.
We queried this with the vendor's agent and were told this was their standard procedure and that the vendor's solicitor's details had been passed to our solicitor - they had. A couple of days later we received the vendor's fixtures & contents form, although we're still awaiting the property info form - we were concerned about this too, but our solicitor is now in receipt of this
Ours is a short(ish) chain - and our vendor has already bought/moved into their new home - but as we're all hoping to complete during the third week in November any indication of the dragging of feet is a bit of a worry!
Good luck with it all OP

Thanks for you reply, I did speak to my solicitor and they haven't had one through either.
I do know the vendor is looking and hasn't found anywhere yet and maybe they think they won't.
Think I definitely need a chat with the EA to find out the situation as I haven't heard a thing since my offer was accepted, no calls, emails etc. Any sort of update would have been nice.0 -
In our experience, you won't get an update about anything from anyone unless you're the one to contact them and ask. The only person who's been good at keeping in touch unprompted for us is our broker. We hear from the solicitor when he needs something or when he gets a search result back, but the rest of the time it's up to me to contact him if I want a general update. Don't hear anything from the EA other than the letter confirming our offer was accepted. All documents went straight to our solicitor with no copies to us.Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

Thanks I did speak to the EA today and they contacted the vendor who does have a couple viewings booked but the problem is there isn't much coming to market. This is true as I've been checking myself.
Hope they find soon as I don't want my buyers getting twitchy. But I do know they really want my house and there is not much where I currently live coming on so I think they might hold on a while with a bit of luck. The joy of chains eh!0
