Switching Banks..question.

I have switched banks recently, and with it being the end of the month it got me thinking about whether I need to tell my employer of my new bank details or not?

I know payments to your old account are transferred for the next 13 months but I'd prefer if my wages weren't being transferred (if they are/would be?)

My Direct Debits have switched over, will my employer have my new bank details now too?

Not yet, but they should be informed the first time your old provider redirects your salary.

    But why take the risk?

I always tell my employer my bank details have changed even if the new bank says they will tell them. No harm in them being told twice.

If you did a full switch, your salary will be redirected to your new account.

Your employer will be told that your details have been changed and they - hopefully - will update them sometime in the next 13 months.

Your salary is quite important, so probably still best for you to contact HR directly and inform them of the change.

(And it's a bit late :p employers do salary runs often 3 - 10 days in advance)
