new claim process

This is an odd one and I'm interested in how this will pan out.

I buy a lot, and I mean a lot, of small items mainly from the Far east and have posted recently about a few sellers who are expecting me to wait 56 days before they will consider a refund.

I recently opened 5 requests having already waited 40 days, one seller refunded immediately with an apology. Two of the requests relate to the same seller who has confirmed they went in the same envelope, despite being bought 2 days apart and immediately having been marked as dispatched. After 8 days I escalated both claims to ebay and one was found in my favour immediately. However, 4 days have passed and the other one is still being reviewed. The review notices suggests that opening 2 cases against the same seller may be seen as auction interference- but ignores the ebay guarantee that I either get my item or a refund.

We are talking sub £2 items here but apparently I am in the wrong for daring to buy more than one item from the same seller and then for letting them send them both together

I know it's off topic, but are you worried about being restricted due to too many claims. As you know, ebay do block/bar/restrict buyers who make too many claims.
  • I generally find they do eventually arrive but it's just a case of sitting back and waiting forever.

I'm hoping the percentage is low enough to make it OK. I have well over 100 purchases this month. I do also have more than one buying account, it is just unfortunate that all the lost items were on the same one

I'm now at 48 days or so for one of them and am not prepared to wait longer. Perhaps this is the backlash against overseas buyers being allowed to open cases against me as early as 5 days after payment. I don't see why a Far East seller should consider it reasonable to get someone to wait 2 months which would conveniently be outside of the eBay claim window.
