International Tracked or International Signed

Hi all,

I sell one main product on eBay, and ship all over the World. Many countries offer the "International Tracked & Signed" option, but some only have "International Tracked" OR "International Signed". Do sellers here tend to prefer one over the other, and if so, why? The prices are almost the same, and I'm not sure which is more useful in a claim of it not arriving. The Royal Mail website says "International Signed" doesn't provide a signature.

I go for the option that shows delivery every time- the signature is not needed for a paypal claim until the value reaches something dizzy like £750.

Items up to £20 all go standard airmail though from me.

My rule of thumb is that if a tracked-only service is available, use that (only if outside the EU, otherwise VAT is payable), especially if the item will fit thru a letterbox.

In the EU, tracked and signed (no VAT on that service) and to all the other countries, Signed For.

Tracked and signed where possible, tracked elsewhere. Signed isn't a particularly reliable service.
