Tesco Internet phone call charges

I use tesco internet phone. I`ve got one that plugs straight into the router.
Calls to Uk mobiles are 10p per minute except for the 3 network http://www.tescointernetphone.com/about/rates/

Now I`ve noticed some higher rates being charged.........My wife rang my virgin mobile & was charged 17p per minute:eek: .Would you say this is false advertising.I emailed tesco & heres the reply:

Further to your query about charges to your Virgin mobile, we have been looking into the matter.
If you go to
www.tescointernetphone.com, click on 'how much does it cost' then look at numbers beginning with '07' at the bottom of the page.
You will see that numbers beginning 07804 are charged at 17.20p.
Despite the fact that it is a Virgin mobile number, this is the cost of dialling numbers beginning 07804.

If I can be of any more help, please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Kind regards,

Yes its a normal mobile number .

    Code:078 04 Type:MobileUse:Mobile T-MobileOperator:T-MobileTariff Band:T Mobile, One2One, Virgin Mobile (fm3) (inc VAT)Service:Mobile

Suggest you ask Tesco why they choose to charge it differently.

If you have a landline you would be better off using www.18185.co.uk 5p connection, 6p a minute to any UK Mobile Network at Peak/Evenings,3p a minute at weekends.

If you can find it written on a leaflet in one of their stores, you would probaly have grounds to complain to ASA.
