ASDA appear to be doing the same. No value brand of biscuits except gingernuts i think.

Not just biscuits though. The value brands of lots of items seem to be missing.

I noticed that smartprice lines are disappearing at a rate of knots, latest thing I have not found is the big bag of stirfry.

  • I also complained about missing savers items today.

She rang the manager and he confirmed that they are withdrawing m savers but will reduce the prices a bit of own brand items.

I very much doubt they will cut it to the same price.

E.g. savers mayonnaise is 40p. Morrisons on brand, same size is 89p. Do not for a second think they will reduce it. Also when will this happen? Do they expect people to stay loyal until they get around to lower prices?

Also was confirmed that match and more won't match other value brands in other stores. So the cheapest Morrisons mayonaise will not price compare with value or smart price mayonnaise.

Think Morrisons are going to lose out quite a bit here.
  • The own brand equivalent products that they are reducing in price are not what you currently know.

At the same time as removing the savers biscuits they are also redesigning the packaging of the own brand version, usually because it's different to the old own brand, e.g different recipe/supplier etc.

    And it shouldn't.
