I have an epson r300 which I bought pretty much exactly 10 years ago.
It was modded with a waste ink mod, so instead of dumping into into the sponge internally, it would squirt all waste ink into a yogurt pot.
The SSC service utility was used so I can reset/clean ink levels and other service messages relating to a "full" waste ink pad.
A CISS system was fitted so I had a massive reservoir of ink, basically £10 of ink will get me 1000+ printed sheets.
Recently after 10 years of service the nozzle on the printer started to play up. No matter how much I cleaned using the software printer nozzle clean it just wouldn't print full bars.
I got hold of a £5 Pristine Fluid from ebay which is a solution (i think IPA) that can dissolve dried ink. You basically inject the solution into the nozzle and it will clean up any dried up ink inside it.
Did a few runs of it and then, took the nozzle out and wiped the under side of the nozzle using a lint free cloth doused in Pristine fluid and the print now prints full bars without any issues what so ever.
