never ever seen a bath plug chain rust, any diy store should stock itEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

Any chain marked/sold for use as a bath plug chain should be non rusting - ie made from chromed brass, stainless steel or other non rusting material - it should say what material it's made from on the packaging or on the signage if it's sold loose on a roll. I always use the ballchain type bought by the length off a roll cos it's cheap.Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s. They are broke!0

I guess I must be very unlucky as I've got from Amazon which has started rusting and I've only had it about a year and a half.0

have to say its pretty cheap from your local hardware store but atleast you'll be getting the right stuffEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

Weird - did it state what materials the chain was made of on the packaging.
If it was sold as a bath plug chain I reckon your statutory rights would apply even after a year and a half as it was not 'fit for purpose'. In the real world however I doubt you'd get your money back now without a lengthy battle
When you buy the new one, make sure the metal it's made of is a type that doesn't rust - brass or stainless steel is usual, the brass is often chromed but the chrome itself won't stop it rusting it's the metal underneath that's important.Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s. They are broke!0 -
