TSB Select Account Charges

I was confused when I received a letter yesterday from my bank "reminding" me that my select account includes AA Breakdown Cover, Mobile Phone Insurance and Card Protection Cover and asked me if it is still suitable for me. I didn't even know I had this cover, we already have two of the insurances. I found the charge, called a monthly account fee of£8.95 per month which I thought was just a bank charge for having the account. After ringing, they said there were two accounts I could change to, which I did, but it was only when I was telling my husband about this that he said that it sounded like one of those mis-selling things that was in the news.... I hope someone will be able to give me a direction to go to as ive had this account for years. thanks

This kind of things always confuses me. Why would you think the bank would charge you £8.95pm just to have a current account? Would you not question what this charge is for?0
