change my credit cards

I've had my Lloyds Avios duo mastercard Amex credit card for 6 years (only used for the past 4) and want something more rewarding.
I usually spend around £300-£400 a month on fuel, groceries, shopping etc, and have paid it off in full every month for at least the last year. Before that I paid at least the minimum. The limit is £1,300

I also have an MBNA credit card which I took out a year ago for a balance transfer that is interest free for 1 more year. I pay it off monthly and it will be paid off in full by the time the interest rate kicks in. I will close this when it is paid off. The limit is £2,900 with £552 outstanding.

I'm also thinking about applying for the Halifax Clarity Card for my honeymoon next year, that will probably be in USA Canada or Mexico.

So basically I want a better day to day credit card for purchases and a holiday card for summer next year (no need to apply for that until next year).
I used the credit card eligibility checker and wasn't accepted for the Amex Platinum Everyday card.

My credit rating was quite poor, but I've improved it over the last couple of years. I will check my current score over the next few days.

Do you recommend ditching for something else? Any other advice?

Thanks;)

Go to the card section of this website and look at the cashback cards - Santander 1-2-3 is supposedly quite good. If your credit file still has some issues on it (they last for six years) you may find it difficult to get the premium options.

You could consider calling your existing provider and asking if they will switch you to a better cashback account.

Ok I'll check those. I think i missed a loan payment around 5 years ago so. That may still be an issue. I'll check with lloyds too.
