First utility any good?

I have been looking after my elderly Dad's energy with First-Utility for a couple of years without any real problems, and I switched from nPower to First Utility as my own energy supply in May this year. Everything went smoothly.
Of course people without problems don't post in the forums, so you see all about the problems here.
Go for it!0 -
We switched to First Utility a couple of months ago, moving from Sainsbury's (British Gas) due to their push for ever increasing monthly payments . So far we have not had any need to contact them plus they seem straight forward enough to update meter readings etc. We did have to contact Sainsbury's as they were sending confusing emails re my cancellation which concerned us but all went through OK in the end.
Currently we are paying about £15 a month less than we would be if we stayed with Sainsbury's! :T
They have recently been offering an opportunity to extend our current 1 year tariff to a 2 or even 3 year tariff but we've decided to keep our options open and to keep our current monthly payment as low as possible.0 -
I use FU and had no issues. I simply send them reads and deal with my account on line. Whats not to like?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

The times, they are a changin'...
Spark and First Utility are old hat now. Even nPower is more or less done and dusted as far as being slagged off by this forum.
So who, I wonder, will be the latest supplier to start trending as the losers in the energy supply industry ... according to MSE posters?0 -
. . . from what I gathered I can save £168 off my yearly bill I don't know if it's a trustable company?
I'd say your best bet is to compare annual costs and calculate the savings for yourself.
Edit
My advice, anyway, would be to avoid nPower - they still have a terrible reputation.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.0 -

I agree about calculating your own values using rates given on the individual websites.
I spent ages doing this, had my list down to two, then found that my present provider was second best, anyway.
Therefore, I am staying with Npower, with whom I've never had any major problems. They have a one year fix, which closes on Sunday, but it' s free to leave, so I can move to Monday's new tariff , if it's better.
I have no problem with billing. In fact the call centre person did me an account update , which agreed, within pence, with my own calculation.0
