I want to grow some plants for my indoor cat

Can anyone tell me where I can buy plants for my cat
Cat Thyme - Teucrium marum
Catmint - Nepeta X faassenii, Nepeta mussini
the other one does go out, hunt, eat grass etc & I think his tummy is better for it. The indoor cat is too nervous & as I live in a flat (1st floor) will not force her out. I have tried growing cat grass from seed but it often dies out - so I thought plants would be a better bet - but don't know where any are sold (London or online prob easiest 4 me 2 access).

We tried various things with little success(from the cats I mean) until w egot some cat grass from B&Q it costs about 97p dead easy to grow and they love it. We have 2 of ours that are 100% house cats and it is loved by them (and the other 5) we plant in various things. We have some in old mugs; also seed trays and odd plant pots(we do this to ensure that Phoebe and Lucy actully manage to get the grass that is meant for them!!!
EDIT sorry just re read your post about cat grass -DOH- SORRY!!!!!!Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

If your keeping your cat indoors, your first priority is common grass. Cats need to eat grass, so it's really important they have access to it.
By the way, I have a cat mint plant, and my cat ignores it lol. Yet she goes crazy for the dried stuff.0 -
I bought the cat mint from the garden centre we have next to us (Haskins). One of our cats loves it whereas the other one ignores it completley.0

At last!
I have ordered two different types of cat mint plant seeds. I did buy some a while ago but the livelier of the two cats destroyed the plants in her enjoyment & there were only a few in the envelope anyways. This time I have ordered 100s & it's a plant & seed company - last time was a private individual from Ebay.
I have two cats:
a Tom (Chi - an ex rescue) who sleeps out & hunts ocassionally
a female `housecat' Mia who never leaves the block of flats of her own accord & has varied interests in insects, clean laundry, plants and eating (yes she is the fat one).
gave up having indoor plants when I got Mia (or cut flowers for that matter) as she used to give them so much attention they died (or she nibbled them down to the roots. I have identified a place the seedlings can get established that she can't reach - on top of one of the kitchen cupboards (I have had a clearout/movearound of stuff)
I have also ordered `tumbling toms' tomatoes to grow indoors (on the bathroom windowsill - with a fair few number of toilettries placed between the pot & Mia's previous way of accessing it via the cupboard and/or sink) - I am hoping Mia will far too preoccupied with two types of cat mint growing outdoors (on the external walkway near the catflap in my front door) to concern herself with trying access these - any thoughts.0 -
Hello
We have 2 indoor cats and so have turned our conservatory into a makeshift garden for them, with cat trees to climc on, boxes to sit in and dozens of edible plants. We've got herbs like mint and rosemary in there, and other edible plants like bamboo and lavender, but the ones they adore and actively chomp on are catgrass, cat mint, lemongrass and spider plant.0 -
If I remember correctly tomato plants are toxic to cats, but it sounds like you're blocking off her access to them anyway.
My mum grows tomatoes in her garden and her male cat sprays them, almost as though he knows they aren't good for him.
Admittedly we only have cat grass for our indoor cat. We do have some non-toxic herbs and occasionally flowers but he tends to ignore these.0 -
yes blocked off access to the tomatoes but if they got really big I thought of putting them in pedestal pots that would be difficult for moglets to access (who knows - never tried growing them before - last 12 months haven't been sucessfully green fingered!).
However have replanted cat grass adjacent to the front door but also have ordered lavendar seeds and currently have all non-toxic stuff in the walkway pots as well as rosemary and thyme so it's almost a mini-garden for the cats (there will be hopefully flowers this summer - annuals but next year if the other stuff like lettuce & peppers seeds that I sowed recently does well I will grow more edible stuff & going forward only host annually flowering perrenials rather than spend alot of time sowing seeds for flowers!)
What I hope to do is grow catmint plugs & then pot them outside when they get larger so there is a continuous source of interest for cats & thus keep their interest focussed there (rather than on my other plants - which are either for decoration or my consumption!)0
