    I was searching in general.
As 'insideinsurance' says.. Do a Kayak search and the prices that come up on the US site are about £200 more expensive for them to come to London than for Brits to go to the US. Does not seem to matter what airline or exchange rate.

The Price I quoted in my first post was the best price with United on Expedia US and the best price with Expedia UK.

I would have expected them to be closer than $350 difference.

Have you read any of the responses? Why would you expect two completely different flights to be the same price?

Exactly. The OP might have cause to moan (a bit) if the same flight had wildly different prices depending on whether you book it on a US or UK site, but for two entirely different flights there are many perfectly valid reasons for a price differential.

Taxes and charges will also be different

Maybe the fuel surcharge (£70 higher ex MKE on a BA/AA mix) but not all the other taxes fees and surcharges going on the same routing/flights on UK/USA flights.

I am not moaning...other than my American friends say it is quite expensive to visit the UK.

Do any search or flight comparison you want, but it's cheaper for someone to go to the USA on a flight than A US citizen to come here.

We all use the same airlines as they fly back and forth.... Do they get taxed more?
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

    Air travel isn't cheap.

Looking at December on Skyscanner, the most expensive "cheapest" flight is from London. £278 in both directions is available.

APT is high in the UK. So it's not that. Airport fees might be an issue in Milwaukee, but I doubt it's that. Supply and demand varies at different points in time. It's most likely that.

I think you need to look at the bigger picture - sometimes it is cheaper to fly UK to US sometimes the opposite is true. If you want to make some serious savings ex UK flights try looking at starting the journey ex an EU airport other than the UK like Dublin or Oslo and adding a LCC flight to your starting point . Some serious savings to be made

We actually pay some of the lowest flight costs here in the UK - similar tickets from other countries in reverse are often dearer.
