I recently bought a tv that you can plug a usb in for downstairs.

I have a LG 422 75 upstairs which I don't think has a usb slot on it. Is there a 'gadget' that will enable a usb to connected to it? So I can watch some series on the usb?

There's no aeriel connected to the tv.

Thanks

Plenty, if you have a HDMI socket something like this would do

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xenta-HDMI-Media-Player-Upscaling/dp/B003AMKAWI/

There are lots on the market and they don't all play all filetypes, so do check beforehand.

Perhaps you can begin with a proper model number from the TV. It can't be that difficult to note down a model number. :)

Worst case scenario would be to buy a Media Player. Though Streaming may also be possible.

Depending on connections available, and services required could also look at Now TV or Chromecast. (Both sub-£30).

The earlier LGs don't seem to like most film formats on USB and will only play pictures. If you have a dvd/blueray connected check if that has a USB slot.

Does Chromecast/NOW TV allow you to play media via USB? Via a Network is possible. Accurate model details of the equipment involved would be helpful.

I had to hack my LG to get it to play video files from a USB, now works a treat.

Ive looked at a media players as suggested and think that will be ok thankyou and cheap enough too. I dont know anything about streaming being of an older generation.:o

It doesn't appear to be a valid model number. Perhaps you can take a closer look. :)
It might be one of the models that allow you to switch the capability on via a hidden menu, as wiogs has suggested.

But without the proper model number, we can do no more.

Could it be 42 575? Even if it were so, is it 42LS575 or 42LN575?

    Take a closer look.
