MBNA Cards - BT Expiry - Payment Dates?

I have a Virgin White Card. On my online account it states my current 0% BT offer I'm using expires on 28/12 - which will be a future statement date.
I remember in the past that even though the expiry date was given you actually had until the payment due date to clear the balance before any interest would accrue. Is that still the case ? Thanks
