Capital One Secured Card - DECLINED !!

Hi All,

Yes, I have just been declined for a secured Capital One Card.

The message I got was ;

WHY WAS I DECLINED?
The reason why we cannot accept your application is that you currently have the maximum amount of credit we can offer you at this time.

I was discharged a few years ago from a Trust Deed and I have never had a credit card since and I am now wanting to try and rebuid my credit score.

Any help would be apreciated,Thanks
Regards,

    Maybe only being 2 years since discharge means they aren't wiling to offer it, have you considered Vanquis? I'm sure I've seen people post that they managed to get accepted to them around 2 years post discharge.

    Hi,

    I tried Vanquis but was declined a while back, but I am now able to apply again as I keep getting the "you have applied in the last 6 months" for the last 2 years !!

    Tried phoning them, but got nowhere.

    Have you ever had a capital one card before?... That message says they have given you the maximum amount of credit they are willing to lend to you. I got that message when I applied for my third card with them, already having the secured and progress cards, and obviously I've got the maximum amount they are willing to lend.

    Have you checked your credit reports?

    Mr Silk,

    Same for me when I applied for a luma card(wasted search had I known), I've just closed my cap one secured as it was my lowest limit card and just secured a nationwide card with a high limit. Looking forward to the 200 back, only one limit increase in 2 years with cap one secured. Capital one certainly keep there limits low on the credit building cards. Didnt even try to keep me as a customer.
