Hi was wondering if anybody could help. My friend has just left her flat that she was renting and submitted her last meter readings. Unfortunately all the old bills were on estimated readings. Now she has a final bill of 800 pounds. She has rang e on and they can only put her on a 12mnth plan. Due to the fact she's on an apprenticeship wage she cant afford the payments. And was told that debt companies would charge her 20%. Has anybody got any knowledge of this on whether she has to pay in 12 months or which way is best to help her
thank you

She's used the energy. Of course she will have to pay for it.
I would suggest you encourage her to sign up to MSE herself (it's FREE) and then she could post her SOA on the DFW board.
I'm sure she will get lots of valuable advice there
(Is she due a security deposit back on the flat? If so that will go a long way to covering the debt, if not clear it altogether)0 -

I think there's an e.On rep that could probably help with this but obviously the OP's friend would have to contact them. The email address in their profile is WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com.0 -
Hi please help,
I thought I would pop on and give your friend some advice
Normally we only spread the debt over 3months when a customer leaves us. To be honest, 12months is a little unusual.
12months is normally the longest we can spread the debt over, but this is only under certain circumstances. I’d tell her to give us a call.
Do we supply your friend’s new property? If we do and she had a prepayment meters we could add the debt to the meters.
