Unless the crossing has cameras fitted specifically for catching people jumping the barriers (any I've ever seen are quite obvious), and there was no camera van there, you'll be fine.0

Thank you for your reply I was hoping the same as your reply0

CCTV evidence can't create a FPN or PCN. Unlikely I would have thought that it will be reported and you've learnt your lesson.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'd give up driving if I got to the stage where I thought someone sounding their horn was a worse fate than being hit by a train.0

I wonder if the person sounding the horn left enough space for the OP to reverse back from under the barrier position?
We all make mistakes but a level crossing is probably the worst place to make one.0 -
Don't necessarily. This one near me just has bog standard CCTV cameras and regularly sees prosecutions based on them. It depends how proactive the local signal staff are about reporting such incidents.scotsman4th wrote: »Unless the crossing has cameras fitted specifically for catching people jumping the barriers (any I've ever seen are quite obvious), and there was no camera van there, you'll be fine.

The only way the OP will know for sure is to wait 14 days and seeing he gets a NIP through the post.0 -

Looks like 2 different types of CCTV.
The one the OP describes, the CCTV is so the signaller can view the crossing. Both cameras do the same job and only one is used at any one time. It would be doubtful if these could read a number plate.
Foxton also has 2 CCTV cameras, but for different reasons. One is to show the signaller a blind spot, and the other is to gather evidence of drivers abusing the crossing.0
